This is about men wanting to control women. It should be the men want their boots on our neck movement. That would be truth in labeling.

The problem with "fetal personhood" (as you well know) is that cells or embryos in petri dishes are not fetuses.

The problem with a "sperm meets the egg" starting line is that before implantation, the body does not recognize a pregnancy.

I am not arguing that a couple using IVF whose embryos are destroyed without permission are without remedies. There can be actions for negligence or breach of contract actions. So you can recognize the couple's loss without endorsing all embryos with full human rights.

For messaging it has to be embryonic….something – I still resist “personhood”, not fetal personhood. If someone believes that God's hand permits the sperm to fertilize the egg, fine for them, but that is a religious theory that cannot not translate into legal rights and prohibitions for Americans who do not think that way.
